Conservation and Restoration of Paintings and Polychrome Sculpture (MA)

With the Master’s study programme Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art we produce professionals who are capable of independent handling and managing demanding conservation/restoration tasks.

When enrolling in this programme a student can choose between two courses: Conservation/Restoration of Paintings and Polychrome Sculpture (A) and Conservation/Restoration of Wall Paintings and Stone Sculpture (B). These allow students to deepen their basic skills and upgrade the knowledge acquired during the first-cycle study necessary for research and development tasks of restoring art materials, where each area requires specific solutions. In addition to acquiring a more in-depth theoretical knowledge, the emphasis at this study level will be placed on the selected artistic and research conservation/restoration area. Practical work is organised in the studios of ALUO, in museums, galleries and at the Restoration Centre of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia.
