Call for participation in the Human # Animal project

Within the framework of the UL ALUO and with the support of the UL Arts Council, a student art project entitled Man # Animal will take place under the mentorship of Prof. Dr Uršula Berlot Pompe.

We will work with a small group of students to create projects for an exhibition at the Ethnographic Museum, opening on 1 September 2022. The project is also part of the Researchers’ Night programme run by the Faculty of Arts. The students will work on the themes of anthropocentrism, bioethics, genetics, robotics, and the new human-animal interactions made possible by these sciences.

The project aims to encourage students to create and think in new ways about the themes of physicality, perception, awareness, instinctiveness, and ethics in relation to animals, as well as to show the importance of art in addressing these themes.

The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 9 March.
