Jure Miklavc

Jure Miklavc is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design and one of the most prominent experts in the field of industrial design, with more than twenty years of experience in practice. He runs the Miklavc Studio – a design studio specialised for industrial design, visual communications, brand development and consulting. The studio cooperates successfully with various domestic and foreign clients in the areas of economy, culture and public administration. Recently, it has mostly developed solutions for health care, lighting, electronic devices, user interfaces, transport, furniture and engineering. The solutions that the studio developed for the cross-country-skiing shoes of the Alpina company have been especially successful. These products account for one-third of the studio’s global market and are one of the globally most recognisable products. In 2014 the studio started to cooperate with Bimota, an internationally recognisable and reputable Italian company, making prestigious motorcycles. In addition, the exhibitions that the studio designed at home and abroad were highly acclaimed.

Jure Miklavc has taught at ALUO since 1998, first as an external associate, and since 2001 as an assistant to associate professor Janez Smerdelj. Since 2012 he has run his own seminar and has been the Head of the Programme for Industrial Design. Since 2013 he has also been a member of the international jury for the prestigious Red Dot Product Design Award in Essen, and in 2014 he was also a member of the international jury for the Red Dot Design Concept Award in Singapore.

Jure Miklavc has won several international design awards for his work and his products have been exhibited at numerous international events and exhibitions.

PREDMETI

Industrijsko in unikatno oblikovanje
Podiplomski študijski program

Namen predmeta je seznaniti študente s potekom magistrskega študija, pripravo metodologije in cilji magistrske naloge. Prvi del predstavlja uvod v magistrski študij – vpogled v potek študija. Drugi del je zasnova poteka magistrske naloge – celovit vpogled v izdelavo magistrske naloge, izbira teme in oblikovanje vsebinskih smernic. Tretji del je uvod v raziskave v oblikovanju in zajema uvajanje študenta v raziskovalno-načrtovalno dejavnost, metode zbiranja in obdelave podatkov, predstavitev raziskovalne dejavnosti za načrtovanje.

Namen predmeta je usposobiti študente za samostojno ali timsko delo na domačih in tujih interdisciplinarnih projektih industrijskega oblikovanja. Študij na podiplomski stopnji je usmerjen v poglobljeno delo na nalogah, ki so lahko usmerjene v raziskovalno delo na kompleksnejših (sistemskih) konkretnih problemih ali v eksperimentalno / konceptualno smer razvoja. Študent se skozi delo nauči obvladovati vse stopnje oblikovalske metodologije in biti sposoben tvoriti (sintetizirati) rešitve kompleksnejših problemov. Proces je usmerjen v iskanje inovativnosti in kreativnosti skozi tehnične in ne-tehnične rešitve.

Študenta se spodbuja v senzibilnost za iskanje odgovorov na pereče družbene probleme. Nauči se razumevanja industrijskega oblikovanje v širšem kontekstu in postane sposoben pravilno pozicionirati njegovo vlogo v okviru gospodarstva ali družbe.
