S tem namenom študentom omogočamo skupno pasivno in aktivno obiskovanje razstav, organiziramo tematske in druge skupinske razstave ter ogled pomembnih likovnih razstav doma in v tujini. Program je sestavljen le v nujnem delu iz obveznih sestavin, saj je na tej stopnji primerno, da si študentje sami oblikujejo svoj kurikulum.

Jedro programa predstavlja študentova lastna umetniška produkcija in z njo povezan magistrski projekt, sestavljen iz umetniškega dela in njegove teoretske obrazložitve.

Na drugi stopnji ima program tri smeri: Slikarstvo, Grafika, Video in novi mediji.

Študijske smeri

Video, Animation and New Media (MA)

The second-cycle Master’s programme is designed with the aim to facilitate the personal development of students towards independent and critical artistic creation, as well as enabling them to work in the related areas of cultural activities that require the knowledge and skills acquired during the studies.

To this end, we enable students to attend exhibitions in either a passive/group role or in an active role; we organise thematic and other group exhibitions as well as visits to important art exhibitions at home and abroad. The programme covers only the necessary mandatory topics, as it is appropriate for this level of study that the students create their own curricula. The core of the programme is the student’s own artistic output and the related Master’s project consisting of a work of art and its theoretical justification. The second-cycle study includes three programmes: Painting, Printmaking and Video, Animation and New Media.

In the second cycle study programme, students of Video, Animation and New Media are faced with the implementation of more demanding multimedia projects, which include film, 3D modelling, animation and interactive projects. The approach is individual, aimed at supplementing and upgrading the student’s initial idea in both theoretical and practical work. The study projects are carried out in close cooperation with the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television and the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana.

Printmaking (MA)

The Master’s programme Printmaking guides and facilitates the student’s personal development in a specific area, taking into account the need for advanced understanding and the ability to build a visual language using a matrix. The student’s diligent involvement in both studio work and theoretical study leads to a clear differentiation between, and evaluation of, an original print and a reproduction.

The essence of an original artistic print that does not involve industrial printing, graphic design or the magnification of a photographic reproduction, is based on a matrix that is equally complex to create as a painting on canvas or a sculpture. Considering historical experiences, being familiar with great print masterpieces and understanding the art of the 20th century, students can develop their visual expressions and their own individual concepts. In this process, the importance of drawing is irreplaceable. The quality of a print is mostly recognisable and appreciated through drawing, convincingly characterising the personality of the author. During the study, the importance of visiting exhibitions, i.e., displays of originals is especially emphasised as these significantly influence creative decisions.
