Eduard Čehovin

Professor Eduard Čehovin teaches the elective subjects of interactive design, kinetic typography and graphic design at the Department for Design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana.

He graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade, the Department for Graphic Design, Graphic Communication and Typographies. As a scholar of IREX – International Research and Exchanges Board, USA – he spent one year at the University of Buffalo and at Parsons School of Design in New York. He won the most prestigious international awards, such as D&AD, Great Britain; Art Directors Club Award; Good Design Award; HOW International Design Award; Type Directors Club Award, USA, etc.

His works were published in all major international graphic-design publications and books, such as Etapes, France; Novum, Germany; Linea Grafica, Italy; D&AD, Great Britain; Art Directors Club; Communications Arts; Graphis; HOW, Print; Typo Directors Club and Visual Language, USA etc. and exhibited in Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan, Taiwan and USA.

The works of Eduard Čehovin are included in the permanent exhibitions of the International Centre for the Collection brand, Belgium; Museum of Applied Arts, Croatia; Les Silos – Maison du Livre et de l’Affiche – Modern Collection, Chaumont, France; Museum of Applied Arts, Belgrade, Serbia; MGLC – International Centre of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia; Museum of Design (Poster Collection), Switzerland; Chicago Athenaeum Museum and Merill C. Berman Collection, USA.

Eduard Čehovin is a member of ICOGRAD – International Council of Graphic Design Associations; TDC – Type Directors Club New York; and ADC – Art Directors Club New York, representing South-East Europe and Austria. He has lectured about graphic design, written articles and been a member of numerous juries in the area of design.
