Zmago Lenárdič

Zmago Ledárdič was born in 1959 in Ljubljana. In 1979–1984 he studied philosophy and sociology at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, and after his graduation in sociology, he also studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. In 1988 he won the Student Prešeren Award. In 1989 he was admitted to the Association of Slovenian Visual Artists. In the same year he started to work as a member of the Glej Experimental Theatre and as a co-founder of the Galerija GT Society. For a short time he taught at the Arrangement Secondary School in Ljubljana. In 1992 he won a DAAD grant of Atelierhaus Worpswede, Worpswede. In the 15-year period of freelancing in the area of culture at home and abroad, he won several professional awards, represented Slovenia in the international arena, participating at symposiums, in cultural capitals (Kopenhagen) and artist residencies (Worpswede, Kleinsassen, New York, Düsseldorf) and, above all, created works of art that elude the existing and known paradigmatic patterns of the domestic art scene. Since 2003 he has been employed at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, working as an associate professor at the Department for Painting. In 2004 the City of Ljubljana presented him with the Župančič Award for outstanding achievements in culture; in 2012 he also won the Jakopič Award. From 2011 to 2014 he has been the Head of the Department for Painting at ALUO.

Slikarstvo
Dodiplomski študijski program

Poleg poglobljene ravni poučevanja slikarske problematike, se v tem letniku posveča dodatna mentorska pozornost osebnim nagnjenjem in preferencam študentov pri njihovi kreaciji avtonomnih likovnih del in osebnega izraza. Študent pridobi izkušnjo razlikovanja in primerjave zgodovinskih slogovnih sprememb, ki se nanašajo na koncept slikovne ploskve kot pokončne površine, v katero vstopamo s svojim telesnim križem. Spozna tehnike kolaža (dekolaža), asemblaža in (foto)montaže, ki temeljijo na vzpostavljanju razlik kot pogoju celote ter se posveča raziskovanju in razumevanju modernistične in postmodernistične umetnosti. V okviru rednega ateljejskega študija pripravi študent dela za uspešno opravljanje diplome na BA stopnji.

Študent pri tem predmetu preko individualne povezave s posameznimi problemskimi sklopi slikarstva (kot so npr. eksploatacija novega realizma, prepletenost figuralike in abstrakcije v kodiranju umetniškega jezika, umetnost kot refleksija individualnega razmišljanja, rekontekstualizacija in reciklaža obstoječega skozi prakse minimalizma in postmodernizma z novimi argumenti) na projekten in eksperimentalen način realizira lastna likovna dela. Pri posegih v polje intertekstualnosti, ki je značilnost sodobne umetnosti, izvaja svoje delo skozi naslednje postopke: mapiranje umetniškega polja, uokvirjanje teme in uprizarjanje pomena. Študent pod mentorskim vodstvom postopno razvija osebno likovno govorico, ki je vezana na raziskovanje evolucijskih pristopov znotraj likovnega medija, kar predpostavlja uporabo starega za uresničitev novega z vsebovanimi individualnimi variacijami ali pa poseg v intertekstualnost tvorjenja podob.
